Disability rights rights mailing list is online

For disability rights advocates with e-mail access, it is possible to subscribe to the Disability Law Discussion List.  The list is run by mail server software which distributes messages to each member of the list.  Topics often include the Fair Housing Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and other disability-related subjects.

The list is open to the public and is echoed to bit.listserv.ada-law, an Internet newsgroup.  Accessing the newsgroup allows readers to read and reply to the posts without actually receiving them via e-mail.  There are generally between 15 and 20 posts to the list each day.

The list is moderated by Bill McGarry.  Archives of past posts to the list are available via File Transfer Protocol (FTP) at ftp://handicap.olivetti.com/pub/ada/ or via Gopher at gopher://handicap.olivetti.com:70/11/ftp/ada/.  For those of you without ftp or gopher access, you can send an e-mail with the command “INDEX ADA-LAW” (without the quotes) in the body of your message to LISTSERV@listserv.nodak.edu.
